Alumni Biography:

Howe Gu, Digital Enablement & Transformation Leader, PWC

Howe graduated from University of Toronto, St. George Campus in 2005 majoring in Economics and Human Biology with a minor in East Asian Studies. He also holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business. As the PwC Canada Digital Enablement & Transformation Leader, Howe works with leading Canadian and global organizations to deliver innovative and sustainable adoption of leading technology solutions and help them reinvent the digital workplace. Through the deployment of best-in-class solutions combined with targeted, deliberate and purposeful design of user experiences he is able to help his clients realize tangible value from their technology investments and overcome the barriers to adoption. His team combines a unique mix of expertise spanning CX/UX/visual design, behavioural science, digital strategy, change management and delivery of large scale business transformation programs. Howe has designed and led large scale transformation programs serving financial services, transportation and logistics, telecom and public sector clients in Canada, the U.S and China. Areas of specialization include digital workplace strategy & transformation, cloud strategy, target operating model design, process engineering, robotic process automation, corporate strategy, financial regulatory compliance (US and Canada) and operational risk management.

Lisa Mladenovic, VP & Chief Accounting Officer, Manulife

As Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer Canadian Division, Lisa is responsible for divisional financial reporting, planning and analysis and the Finance Shared Service Centre. Lisa has been with Manulife since 2011 most recently as AVP Industry, Regulatory and Government Affairs where she was responsible for providing senior management with information on key industry, regulatory and government issues affecting our Company and leading the Business Information Centre, Corporate Archives and the Corporate Art Collection. She also held the role of AVP, Group Accounting Policy where she led a team responsible for interpreting and developing accounting policies in accordance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP/NAIC, provided accounting analysis on Corporate and Divisional transactions, developed policies for newly issued accounting pronouncements and actively managed emerging accounting pronouncements.Prior to joining Manulife, Lisa worked as a financial consultant and held various finance roles at State Street, North York General Hospital and Shoppers Drug Mart. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, and is a CPA, CA

Sabeen Saeed, Product Manager, MD Financial Management

Sabeen Saeed is a product manager at MD Financial Management, a financial services firm focused on enhancing Canadian physicians’ financial outcomes by focusing on their distinctive needs and operating in their best interests. Previously, she worked as a product manager at leading asset manager, Sentry Investments, and at investment research service provider, Morningstar Inc. Sabeen completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto with a joint specialization in Economics and Political Science. Her passion for giving back to the community and working with youth led her to co-found the Greater Toronto Area’s first TEDxYouth event, TEDxYouth@Toronto. In her spare time, she is a patron of the arts, an avid foodie and tries to travel whenever she can.
