MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Now accepting applications!

For the 2017-2018 academic year, ESA is continuing its flagship Mentorship program matching a 1st or 2nd year mentee with a 3rd or 4th year mentor. Apply now!

MENTORS

This program allows upper year students to become a mentor to a first or second year Economics student at the University of Toronto. This opportunity is a great way to get involved in the undergraduate economics community as well as contribute to ESA's mission of fostering a support network for students.

To become a mentor, you must be in your third year of study (or up) in the 2017-2018 academic year at the University of Toronto. Further, you must be registered in one of the Economics programs (Economics Specialist/Major/Minor, Rotman Commerce, or International Relations programs).

We cannot guarantee all who apply will receive a mentee; the number of people we accept depends on the availability of mentees.

To become a mentor, fill out the following application form by Friday, September 29, 2017.

Mentorship Program FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Mentorship Program FAQ

How will the program be structured?

After you have been matched with your mentee, you will be expected to meet around once a week for a few hours. Both the mentor and mentee will have to submit when you met for CCR credit. In addition to regular meetings, ESA will host mentorship program socials so both mentors/mentees can get to know other people in the Mentorship Program, and in the Economics Program.

What is the time commitment?

Expected time commitment is a minimum of 1-2 hours/week during the school year, plus any program social events. The amount of time will be documented by both the mentor and mentee in order to receive CCR credit.

How will I be matched with my mentee?

ESA will provide a questionnaire to both mentors and mentees, and matches will be made based on answers to the application questions.
